If Calgary looks a head to PHX and lose this game they don't deserve the playoffs.

Agreed. If we don't win these, the others won't be enough.

Good blog. I hope no major trades are made. 23 games left, 15 at home, and Kip....the cards are in their hands in comparison to the rest. Just gotto finish strong.
I think it will take 97pts to get in, so 15-6-2 gets it done....seems tough but doable

Break down the sked further and you'll find that most of the games are against teams from 7-15th in the West. They definitely control their own destiny.

95's good enough for a 98 percent certainty of playoffs according to sportsclubstats.com

97 points is a lock, likely putting us in 6th.

Easy win for the Flames, Dont think my oilers can fight their way out of a wet paper bag, plus we want the #2 pick and a win will not help..

very true.

But I think Glencross is going to be coming in right when they'll need that extra kick to finish things off.

If there's a trade. Gaustad wouldn't be a bad pick up. I don't think we can count on horak and kolanas in the playoffs as centers.

I'm sorry but how many first round picks is it going to take for Edmonton to play good hockey? It may sound stupid coming from me, but I at least have the excuse of horrible management and ownership during this last decade. We see what a good GM can do for a club.. Nug, Hall, Paajarvi, Gagner.. I can go on. You guys play for the top draft spot every year and you won't get anywhere.

Gratz to the Flames, I would love to see Iginla raise the cup. I also miss Jokinen.. I really liked him here.

Clever! Typical answer when you really don't have any other way to come back. We suffered through ten years of HORRIBLE play.. fans stopped coming. This year our play has gotten better, and attendance is rising. Try something else because that "insult" has gotten old. There is no flaw to what I said. Next year, you'll finish last again.

Even funnier than your previous post. Without Wayne Gretzky your team never would have survived passed the 80's. You got lucky and you haven't done anything since he left. As for my team, I'm always proud of them. They don't have to win in order for me to be proud of them. Do you feel that the game of hockey is "yours?" That confuses me. And why does my teams location bother you so much? Is it because you lost the cup to a team just a few states north of me? And you can see into the future! That is cool. I had no idea that you would be able to tell when or if the Panthers would ever hoist a cup. So since Gretzky left and the Panthers became a franchise, let's do the math. We've each made it to the playoffs a few times, and have been to a cup final. We're nearly the same stat wise. My only gripe with you guys is that you have most likely drafted 10 of the best players in the last 5 drafts, only to never have them pan out. Every year it's trade this guy, bench that guy, we need the second pick in the draft. It's all the time. Again, I can take my teams poor play in the last decade and point it in the direction of horrible management and corrupt ownership. It's a fact, good sir. Or child' not sure but I'm guessing you're about 15?

Prior to the previous 2 years the Oilers drafted Gagner 6th overall a few years ago. Prior to that only Smyth and Bonsignore were drafted inside the top 10. Maybe you could shut up?
